This video is for general information and general demonstration purposes only.  You must read your specific fireplaces manual.  If you have any concerns, please contact us directly at 970-230-9363.

WARNING!!! You must first Read and follow the instructions that came with your fireplace!!!

If you do not follow the instructions exactly, a fire or explosion may result, your house could blow up and you could die.

[I’m not being overdramatic by the way] Do not go by what I say. This is only an example of how you might go about lighting a pilots light!!!  If you have any concerns, please contact us for professional expert service.
Step #1:

BEFORE LIGHTING, make sure to smell around the fireplace for gas. You will want to also check around the floor area.  Gas is heavier than air! f

  • Do not light anything!  Again – DO NOT LIGHT ANYTHING IF YOU SMELL GAS!!!
Electrical switches can spark. If you smell gas, do not flip any switches,  don’t even use a phone inside the building
Immediately call your gas company from outside the building. The gas company will advise you on how to proceed.
If your gas company does not answer, immediately call the fire department.

Do not use pliers or other tools to push or turn the pilot control knob.  If you can’t turn the control, you will need to call a qualified service technician to repair the pilot control unit.  Forcing the pilot control can result in an explosion!!!
